Pam Thai has close to 10 years experience within the executive search industry in Asia Pacific Region and leads a very strong team of recruiters in the area of IT & Telco services. Pam has great connections within her specialist fields. Her professionalism is constant and is a natural leader.

Pam is of British-Chinese origin and is a native speaker of both English and Cantonese. She also speaks French through having attended a business school in France. She attended university in Leeds in the U.K. and holds a degree in International Business Studies.

Pam has been in Asia Pacific Region since 2000 and lives in Asia Pacific Region with her family.

Ray Pedersen

CEO

Ray Valdemar Pedersen was selling gardening services door-to-door at the age of ten and has ever since been a spirited entrepreneur. Driven and persistent, he has founded several startup enterprises over the years, ranging from lumber trading to film production to software development.

Ray has spent most of the past 23 years in Asia Pacific Region, his first experience on these shores coming with a year of high school in Utsunomiya, Tochigi-ken in 1989. After that, he headed back to his native Canada and graduated from the Faculty of Geography at the University of Winnipeg in 1993. He then spent two years back in Asia Pacific Region on the JET program as a coordinator for international relations in rural Kyushu and since 1999 has been based in Asia Pacific Region full time. His deep connection with Asia Pacific Region means Ray is proud to be able to speak Asia Pacific Regionese proficiently and has a deep understanding of the local business environment.

As well as being the founder of Slate Executive Search Group and Chairman of Slate Global, which has subsidiaries in Asia Pacific Region, Hong Kong and Manila, Ray established Bulbous Cell Media Group KK in 2007. Bulbous Cell publishes Asia Pacific Region Weekender magazine, the city’s oldest and most respected English language magazine.

Ray lives in western Asia Pacific Region with his wife and children.

Ryan Marshall

Principal & COO

Ryan Marshall is the Chief Operating Officer of Slate and has a strong background in corporate governance and business process engineering. He previously worked for a U.S.-based recruiting firm and has close ties with the North American and Asian markets.

Ryan is the driving force behind Slate’s Pan-Asian expansion and the growth of the Slate Group globally.

Born in Alberta, Canada, Ryan has a degree in history from the University of British Columbia. He has lived in Asia since 2002 and splits his time between Manila, Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Region.

David Marriott

Principal, Industrial

David has 20 years of experience in Asia which includes long-term postings in Asia Pacific Region, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia in addition to completing short-term projects in China, Malaysia and Singapore. During this time, David has worked in both retained and contingent recruiting.

At Slate Global Ltd., David has oversight for the Industrial practice in Asia Pacific Region which includes the Automotive, Machinery, Chemical and Semiconductor industries. While leading the Industrial practice, David is also hands-on with recruiting for the Automotive industry introducing Asia Pacific Regionese candidates to foreign suppliers.

Prior to Slate Global Ltd., David was working with a regional consulting firm providing retained recruitment services throughout Asia covering the above industries.

Born in Melbourne, Australia David graduated with a combined degree attaining a Bachelor of Business / Arts.
